WIRRAL’S cutest bundle of joy has been announced after weeks of anticipation.

More than 100 of the borough’s babies entered this year’s Bonny Baby contest in the hope of taking the crown as the cutest of them all.

But it was nine-month-old Jack Banks, from Upton, who came in first place, attracting 377 votes from mums, dads, nans, granddads, aunties, uncles and friends.

The adorable tot has won an S7 modelling contract photo shoot worth £250, something proud mum Kirsty Taylor, aged 31, said she is delighted about.

After receiving the news that her son had been crowned Wirral’s bonniest baby, an elated and emotional Kirsty told the Globe: “I’m absolutely made up but I’m not surprised, he’s absolutely gorgeous – there’s no competition.

“I entered Jack because I thought he was in with a good chance of winning – he is a bonny baby.”

Jack’s cheeky smile has also won a one year family ticket for the Light Cinema for him, his mum and his dad Neil.

The event, which is in association with Birkenhead Market, saw 116 babies being put forward for the title.

Second prize went to Macey-Leigh Mahoney, from Noctorum, who has won family tickets for Peppa Pig at the Floral Pavilion and a £50 House of Fraser voucher.

And coming in a close third was Monroe Grace McIver, from Prenton, who takes home a month’s family pass for Total Fitness and a £50 gift voucher for Hair & Beauty Lounge.
