Paula Basnett, chief executive of Wirral Chamber of Commerce, said: "Each year we are amazed at the level of business excellence which is identified through the entries we receive.
"This year was no exception and it was extremely difficult to make the decisions as to which of the award applications would go through to the 2014 awards final.
"What was clear is that the bar was again raised, but the companies and individuals who have been announced certainly were well deserving of their place as finalists”.
