A BIRKENHEAD man remains critical in hospital after he was stabbed in his home.
Three people have been arrested following the stabbing on Henthorne Street on Friday night.
Police were called to the address at around 9.40pm and found a 45-year-old man with a serious stab wound to his body.
He was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital for emergency surgery. He remains in a critical condition.
The house has been cordoned off to allow a full forensic investigation of the crime scene.
Detectives are trying to establish the circumstances that led to the man being injured.
Three people who were in the house at the time have been arrested on suspicion of wounding.
All three have been questioned and have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
A spokesman for Merseyside Police said an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
