FIREFIGHTERS were called to West Kirby today after a car burst into flames on the promenade.

Operators at Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service's control room received four calls about the fire, which took hold at around 2.45pm today, Thursday on South Parade.
The engine compartment of the Vauxhall Astra estate was severely damaged in the blaze, which is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.
No one was injured.
