WIRRAL West MP and minister for employment Esther McVey MP cut the ribbon to officially open a newly-refurbished post office in her constituency.

She was joined by staff at the launch of the revamped branch in The Crescent, West Kirby on Thursday.

Afterwards she said: "The Post Office is vital to the community around West Kirby and I'm sure the new improved office and the longer opening hours, will be warmly welcomed by local residents."

The modernised West Kirby Post Office has four serving positions. Branch manager Kirsten Edwards said: "I was delighted to have the opportunity to re-open the new branch and I am very pleased to be officially launching it today for the community.
