Police investigation after body found in Wirral waterway
AN investigation is underway following the discovery of the body of a man in a waterway in Prenton on Saturday.
At about 5.15pm members of the public reported finding the body of a man in The Fender near to Christleton Close.
Police and paramedics attended and found the body of a man, aged in his 60s, in the water.
The scene was cordoned off for examination.
The man has been identified and his next of kin are in the process of being advised.
At this time the man's death is being treated as unexplained and a post mortem will be conducted to establish the cause of death.
Anyone with information is asked to call Merseyside Police on 101.
