Merseyside’s Police Commissioner has received a national award recognising her office’s “exceptional” community engagement work.
Comparing PCCs - an independent organisation set up to scrutinise performance of Police and Crime Commissioners - carried out research to identify how well their offices are engaging with the public.
The organisation examined submissions as well as reviewing public records and social media to identify the most effective PCCs.
Following this, they gave a “highly commended” mark to the work of commissioner Jane Kennedy and her team.
Chief executive Bernard Rix yesterday travelled to Merseyside to present Ms Kennedy with the award.
He said: “The Merseyside office of the Police and Crime Commissioner has demonstrated their exceptional performance in relation to public engagement.”
Ms Kennedy said: “I have a fantastic community engagement team who are dedicated to listening to the needs and concerns of all the different communities in Merseyside.
“This national award recognises their hard work.”
