A MAN was arrested for being drunk and disorderly after an incident near Hoylake railway station late on Wednesday night.
Police were called by a resident, whose home backs onto the line near the station at around 10pm.
She was concerned for the safety of the man, who was on the track.
Power was switched off as British Transport Police searched the line.
As a result, rail services to West Kirby were stopped with passengers put in taxis to complete the rest of their journeys.
The man had disappeared from the track and, after an hour-long hunt of the surrounding area, which involved his family, was found in Jubilee Drive in West Kirby and arrested.
He remains in custody today.
