A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a collision with a bus is Birkenhead earlier today.
The 35-year-old man, from Birkenhead, had been riding his blue Yamaha motorbike when he was involved in a collision with a bus on Beaufort Road.
Officers were called to the road's junction with Ilchester Road just after 3pm.
The victim has not yet been named but his next of kin have been informed.
Beaufort Road was closed from Wallasey Bridge road until 7pm. Lincoln Street was also closed.
A spokesman for Merseyside Police said an investigation into the full circumstances of the collision remains on-going.
He added: "The victim's next of kin have been informed and a police family liaison officer has been appointed to provided support during this difficult time."
