A WIRRAL woman has appeared in court charged with stealing "not less than" £19,000 from a New Brighton church.
Sandra Jones, of Charlton Court, Prenton, appeared before magistrates today following the discovery of a number of discrepancies in the accounts of the Parish of New Brighton St James with Emmanuel.
The 62-year-old is charged with stealing £19,500 between January 2003 and December 2012.
Jones did not enter a plea to the charges and will now appear at Liverpool Crown Court on September 24.
She was given unconditional bail.
