UPDATED At 16.40: THE Wallasey Tunnel has reopened following a two car collision earlier today.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A TWO car collision has led to the partial closure of the Wallasey Tunnel, heading into Wirral.
Police were called to the Kingsway Tunnel shortly after 2.30pm today, Tuesday, after reports of a smash between two cars.
No one was injured in the collision but officers were forced to close the southbound tube, heading from Liverpool to Wallasey, while the vehicles were recovered.
A spokeswoman for Merseytravel said the tube should re-open in the next 15 to 20 minutes.
A contraflow is currently in place in the northbound section of the tunnel, with reports of delays in the area as a result.
