AN investigation is underway following a burglary in Prenton on Saturday.
Police were called to a house on Woodchurch Road at around 5.40pm after a homeowner reporting seeing a man leaving the back of the property and heading across a field.
Officers attended and carried out an extensive search of the area, supported by the police helicopter and dog patrols.
House-to-house enquiries have also been carried out and crime scene investigators have examined the property.
A spokesman for Merseyside Police confirmed an investigation into the full circumstances is ongoing.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around the time of the burglary, or has any other information, should the non-emergency 101 number or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
