A WIRRAL dancer who starred in the Turkish version of Strictly Come Dancing is heading back to his home turf for one night only – to dance with the stars again.

Professional national dance champion and choreographer James Wilson, 30, from Caldy, Wirral, is part of the cast of An Evening with the Stars of Strictly Come Dancing, at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton, on Thursday, May 29.

James, after pairing up with Adriana Lima in the Turkish show, Yok Böyle Dans, was invited to join the 75-night UK tour.

The show also features the UK's Strictly Come Dancing professionals Pasha Kovalev, whose celebrity partners have included Kimberley Walsh and Rachel Riley; and Katya Virshilas, who partnered Dan Lobb and Gavin Henson.

James, who has represented England for Latin and Ballroom, said: "I've thoroughly enjoyed the time I've spent dancing on the Turkish show, but it has always been my ambition to return to England.

"I’m delighted to be dancing, not only back in the UK, but in Wirral, and I’m looking forward to seeing lots of familiar faces on the night."

The production will see James, along with Pasha, Katya, and three other professionals from Sweden and South Africa, demonstrating a number of breathtaking dance routines, accompanied by a full audio-visual backdrop and light show.

There will also be a question and answer section and an appearance by a local dance school.

James said: "I've been lucky enough to travel the globe with my dancing career, but home really is where the heart is and I can’t wait to return."

Tickets for the show, which starts at 7.30pm, are from the box office on 666 0000.
