A CHARITY Bikers' Bikeshow in aid of The Wales Air Ambulance takes place in Irby next week.

Organised by The Cow Shed Crew the annual family event takes place at the Shippons Inn in Thingwall Road, Irby on Saturday, May 24, from 11am.

Last year 60 bikes were on display. The annual prize for Best Bike In Show is £100 cash and a trophy.

There is no charge for entry. Organiser Mike Ireland said: "It's a "Show Us Yours" bikeshow and we have vintage, classic, restorations and modern rides arriving throughout the day.

"This is an opportunity for you to bring along and show your bike. Proud of it then bring it!! Show yours, see others and talk bikes."

Police and Fire Bikes will be on display, Bikesafe, RoSPA, WAM, Blood Bikes. There will also be stalls and children's entertainment.

The fun continues into the night with a set from rock band Rigsby’s Cat. The Best Bike In Show will be judged between midday and 3pm.

THE next meeting of the West Wirral branch of the Family History Society for Cheshire will takes place tonight, Wednesday, May 14.

It will be held at Westbourne Community Centre in West Kirby and invites people to bring along any problems they may have regarding family tree research. A help desk is available from 1.30pm and from 2pm, there will be a talk by Angela Brabin on The trial of Dr Tomanzie.

Visitors are welcome and admission is £1.50, which includes refreshments.

A HEALTH walk around Birkenhead Park takes place this Tuesday evening, May 19.

If you are interested in taking part, meet at Claughton Health Centre at 7pm. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Walks are lead by a trained walk leader. All are welcome. The walks take place every Tuesday until mid September.

TABLE Tennis lessons for the over-50s take place at West Kirby Concourse every Friday.

OXFEST - an event celebrating 25 years of Oxton and Noctorum Churces Together - will be held in the Arno Fields, Storeton Road, Prenton this Saturday, May 17.

VICTORY Hall Tennis Club holds an open day for prospective junior and adult members on Sunday, May 18.

The event, at the venue in Rake Lane, Upton, takes place from 12-4pm. It is a chance to see the facilities and meet current members.
