UPDATE AT 11.11pm: FIREFIGHTERS have put out a major fire in Moreton.

Pasture Road has reopened but emergency services remain at the scene following a major blaze in Moreton.

Six fire engines were called to Tarran Industrial Estate at 8.30pm today, Tuesday, after a large fire broke out at an industrial unit.

Pasture Road was closed both ways due to the blaze between Ditton Lane and Pasture Avenue.

Globe chief reporter Craig Manning is at the scene and says two fire engines are currently damping down at the site.

No one is thought to have been injured.

One resident who lives nearby said it was "like World War Three", describing hearing a loud explosion before seeing thick black smoke coming from the unit.

"If it had took hold of the petrol station, we wouldn't be here now," said one resident.
