A PROJECT to create a community garden in Hoylake has been awarded £500 from Wirral council's 'Love Wirral' fund.
The money will be used to create a garden at The Parade in Hoyle Road.
It will be open to all age groups from local nurseries to bring children to sit in the garden, people passing who wish to call in for a cup of tea, or groups to come in and use the outdoor space for parties or drinks receptions.
The project is being created in conjunction with Wirral Metropolitan College's Prep for Life department.
The students are managing the project to develop work experience and team building skills.
They will take on all aspects of managing the garden including maintenance of the fences, planting, weeding and cutting the grass.
Vaughan Williams, chairman of the trustees at The Parade, said: "The community is at the heart of everything we do here at The Parade and we want our facilities to be accessible to everyone.
"We are very pleased that we can offer the opportunity to Wirral Met students to take on this project".
