MASKED armed robbers threatened staff and stole cash during an early morning raid in Oxton Village.

The terryfing incident happened at 7am today, Wednesday, at Edward’s Newsagents on Rosemount.

Two men – one armed with a knife – entered the store and threatened staff.
Staff at the shop told the Globe the masked men were “in and out” and escaped with a quantity of cash.

A search of the area has been carried out and house-to-house enquiries were undertaken. CCTV is also being sought.

Merseyside Police have confirmed that a full investigation is ongoing.

A spokesman said: “A report was received, at about 7am, that Edward's Newsagents on Rose Mount had been subjected to a robbery.

Just before 7am, two men armed with a knife entered the store, threatened staff and demanded cash. The offenders then left the scene with an amount of cash.

Although uninjured, the staff were left distressed following their ordeal.”
