THREE people have been arrested after a fight broke out in a Wirral street.

Officers from Merseyside Police were called to Prenton on Tuesday after receiving reports of a disturbance involving a small group of people fighting on Prenton Hall Road.

Patrols attended the scene shortly after 3.30pm and found a 26-year-olld man with a puncture wound to his thigh.

Enquiries were carried out in the area and, as a result, officers arrested three people from the Prenton area.

A 43-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of affray and a 42-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of affray and assault.

All three have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A spokesman for the police said: “An investigation into the full circumstances surrounding the incident is continuing, although at this stage officers believe the victim and the offenders may have been known to each other.”
