WIRRAL cycling enthusiasts are invited to take part in a charity challenge for North West Cancer Research this weekend.

The 6th annual Circle of Hope – which takes its name from the village
of Hope near Wrexham – will take place this Sunday, May 4.

The event, which has raised more than £50,000 since its inception, offers riders a choice of either a 50-mile or 100 mile challenge.

Both start and finish at Hope Parish Hall and the routes take cyclists through Flintshire, Denbighshire, Wrexham and Cheshire.

More than 200 cyclists have signed up to take on the challenge so far.

Its organiser Mike Georgeson said: "People of all ages and cycling abilities can get involved with a choice of the 50 or 100 mile routes,
which can be completed in your own time.

"It's not about winning the race, it's about taking part and raising money
for a cause which has touched so many people in the area."
