CLAIRE House and the Alzheimers Society are among 22 charities receiving a share of cash from NHS Wirral’s Clinical Commissioning Group Fund.

The programme allows not-for-profit organisations to use their innovative projects and ideas to tackle important health priorities on Wirral.

A total of £440,000 of funding has now been awarded to 22 organisations.

These groups are in with a chance of winning a further £10,000 worth of funding and the winner will be decided by a public vote.

Also among those awarded funding are Wirral Environment Network and Wirral Society for the Blind & Partially sighted.

Iain Stewart, of NHS Wirral clinical commissioning group, said: "We are very pleased to have awarded the funding to outstanding community projects, believing that they can make a real difference in tackling health priorities on Wirral.

"It highlights how many voluntary and community organisations there are out there working hard to improve the lives and health of Wirral people."
