A BIRKENHEAD women’s charity will help the borough’s most vulnerable make positive changes thanks to funding from a leading high street bank.

Tomorrow’s Women Wirral – a project committed to reducing female imprisonment, offending and help those who want to make positive lifestyle changes – has been awarded £5,000 from the Santander Foundation to help fund activities and outings for Wirral’s vulnerable women.

Many of the women who use the service have a variety of issues ranging from relationship difficulties to substance misuse and the grant funding will allow them to build up their confidence and feel socially included.

Angela Murphy, executive director at Tomorrow’s Women Wirral, said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this grant.

“Tomorrow’s Women Wirral aims to help women within the local area blossom and develop confidence to make positive life changes – this donation will allow us to expand this service.”

Andrew Jones, from Santander’s Chester branch, added: “The Santander Foundation makes hundreds of donations every year to good causes throughout the UK.

“Our branch is committed to supporting the community and we are delighted to be helping Tomorrow’s Women Wirral and hope the donation makes a real difference to local people.”
