TWO men were taken to Arrowe Park Hospital for treatment after they were rescued from a canoe that had capsized on the River Mersey.
Merseyside Fire & Rescue's Marine rescue boat was launched on Friday afternoon and the two were found in the river near Tranmere.
They were taken to a berth in Tranmere, given oxygen and kept warm until the ambulance arrived. They were treated for the effects of immersion in hospital.
The canoe was taken to the rescue boat's base for safekeeping.
