Arson suspected after JCB digger is set on fire in Hoylake

POLICE are investigating a suspected arson attack after a JCB digger was set on fire in the garden of a house in Hoylake.

Emergency services were called to an address in Meols Drive at around 11pm on Wednesday.

Eyewitnesses recall hearing a massive bang as the machine burst into flames.

Crews from Birkenhead, Upton and West Kirby fire stations attended the scene.

At this stage it is not known whether anyone was injured.
