A NESTON woman will open her garden to the public this weekend to raise money for leading cancer charities.
Briarfield garden was once described as a bramble-filled wilderness but thanks to the care and attention of its owner, Liz Carter, it is now a haven of beauty filled with an array of flowers, shrubs and water features.
This Sunday, April 13, Liz is inviting people from far and wide to meander through the garden, which first opened in 1993, to help raise awareness and money for Macmillan Cancer Support and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Part of the National Gardens Scheme, the garden will be open from 1pm until 5pm.
Afternoon tea will be served at St Nicholas Church, with an art exhibition taking place from 11am behind the village hall.
Admission to the garden, located at The Rake, Burton, Neston is £4 for adults and free for children.
