A WALLASEY man has appeared in court charged possessing more than 14,000 indecent images of children.
Dominic William Vaughan, of Bell Road, is charged in relation to images ranging from category one to category five – with category five being the most extreme.
The 21-year-old faces 15 counts of downloading indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of a child, and one count of possessing 14,178 indecent images or pseudo-photographs of a child.
Wirral magistrates were told that 6,405 images were classed as category one , 93 were category two, 5,416 were category three, 2,191 were category four and 77 were category five.
The offences were alleged to have been committed between June 15, 2009 and May 10, 2012.
Vaughan did not enter a plea and will appear at Liverpool Crown Court on August 8.
