A WIRRAL man has been killed after his car crashed into a fence and tree in West Kirby in the early hours of Monday morning.

The 21-year-old from Prenton was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital with serious head and chest injuries following the fatal collision but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Merseyside Police is appealing for witnesses following the crash, which saw the 21-year-old’s silver Vauxhall Corsa collide with a fence and a tree before overturning on Column Road at around 1.40am.

The road was closed for around four hours while enquiries were carried out in the area and collision investigators attended the scene.

An investigation into the full circumstances surrounding the incident is continuing.
