A WIRRAL family friendly business has shown that it is just that after scooping a top award at Wirral’s prestigious Tourism Awards.

The Potting Shed – a paint-your-own-pottery studio and coffee shop based in Heswall – was named the borough’s best Family Friendly Business at the awards ceremony, held at the Floral Pavilion on April 2.

Owner Jeanette Hatter told the Globe she was “absolutely thrilled” to win the award, which recognises businesses that understand the special demands of the family audience.

“This award means so much to us because we love what we do and are passionate about helping people of all ages to have a great time while they are here with us,” said Jeanette.

“Every visitor will find a warm welcome, a friendly smile, helpful knowledgeable staff who genuinely care that you have a good time.

“This business is all about fun and we try to make sure that everyone who visits us enjoys the experience as much as we do.

“Thank you to everyone for your support, we are thrilled with the award.”

Although the Potting Shed – which opened in 2006 – is primarily a pottery painting studio, it also offers a range of other crafts including clay, decopatch and canvas painting.

It boasts a loyal customer base, with people travelling from all over the north west to see what Jeanette and her team has to offer.

It has grown so popular that it will move to a new, larger home, in Hoylake on April 12.

Jeanette added: “It means such a lot to us as we have always tried so hard to deliver exception service in a friendly welcoming environment, this award means that we're succeeding.”
