A WIRRAL mum is appealing for information after her beloved pet pooch was stolen as she and her children slept in their Bebington home.

Jenny Scott and her two children, aged 12 and 13, are devastated at the loss of six-year-old teacup Chihuahua Frankie, who is believed to have been taken during a break in during the middle of the night.

The family had gone to bed on Tuesday but when they awoke on Wednesday morning, they discovered Frankie was missing.

The 34-year-old mum-of-two told the Globe nothing else had been taken during the break in and is now worried that those responsible will return.

Frankie is long-haired with a fawn body and a white chest.

She is micro chipped but was not wearing a collar when she was stolen.

Jenny, who has set up a Facebook page appealing for information, told the Globe: “The kids are absolutely devastated – they have been up all night and they are terrified that someone is going to come back into the house. They are checking websites for any news.

“Frankie’s mum and dad live with us as well and they are both very distressed without her.”

In a post on the Facebook page, Jenny wrote: “If whoever has her is reading this, please take her somewhere safe where she will be found. Or put her back in our garden and no further action will be taken.”

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said an investigation is underway to find Frankie.

He said: "Officers were called by a member of the public at around 9.30pm on Wednesday, March 26, reporting her house had been burgled and she was no longer able to find one of her dogs, a female teacup long-haired Chihuahua called Frankie."

Officers are arranging to speak to the victim and enquiries into the incident are being carried out.

Anyone who may have seen the dog or has any other information should call the police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
