THREE Wirral women have been bailed following an investigation into illegal money lending in Birkenhead.

The women – aged 33, 35 and 67, were arrested on Wednesday after The England Illegal Money Lending Team, working in partnership with Wirral Council, executed warrants at two residential addresses.

After being arrested on suspicion of illegal money lending, the women have been bailed while further enquiries are carried out.

A search of the properties discovered a substantial amount of cash and documentation.

Bet it wasn't £736,000+ in cash. i.e. the amount Wirral Council took from the bank accounts of numerous learning disabled tenants over a 9 year period - which also involved the council repeatedly trashing its statutory obligation to look out for the welfare and wellbeing of those tenants, and its duty not to discriminate against disabled people.
