WIRRAL South constituency committee is inviting people to bid for a share of £50,000 to fund health and wellbeing projects.

The cash has been made available through Wirral South Health and Wellbeing Fund and bids up to a value of £3,000 are invited for projects aimed at increasing the healthy life expectancy of local residents.

The funding exercise was approved at a meeting of Wirral South constituency committee.

Chairman Cllr Phil Gilchrist, said: "The committee was very keen to reach out to all sectors of the community and secure the highest possible public interest.

" We wanted as many people as possible from as many communities as possible to benefit from this fund."

Applications open on March 31 and close Tuesday, May 6.

Good stuff. Any funding for the community has got to be a good thing as long as it's spent wisely and monitored properly. It's about time Wirral Council understood that funding for the community is important and gives lots of bang for its buck.
