A NEW crackdown on fly-tipping is being launched across the borough – and Globe readers have a chance to play their part in the campaign.
Fly-tipping is hugely anti-social and blights communities, and too often the culprits get away scot-free – so now’s your chance to do something about it.
So we’re uniting with the council to help clean-up the borough’s grot spots!
Wirral Council’s leader has set aside £400,000 to see the return of regular monthly alleyway clean-up squads - but he also wants to hear from readers who can nominate their own “grot-spots”.
He wants to not only clean up Wirral’s eyesores, but also to catch and prosecute those responsible.
Councillor Phil Davies said: “Globe readers have a big part to play in helping us crackdowmn of fly-tipping.
“It’s a major issue in many areas of the borough and I’m determined to do something about it.”
So if you’ve got a fly-tipping grot-spot to report, email us with the address and we’ll work with the council to have an action team sent round to clean it up. Send your emails to the editor: lmarles@wirral-globe.co.uk.
Alternatively you can telephone Streetscene on 606 2004.
