Lancashire Police are appealing for help to trace a man who has gone missing from home and who it is believed may have travelled to Merseyside.

Robert Wilson, 48, was last seen by a family member at the home address in Preston at about 8am on Monday.

Concern is growing for his welfare and police are appealing for anyone who may have seen Robert or who knows where he might be.

Officers have also appealed directly to Robert to get in touch to let them know he is safe.

There is information which suggests he may have travelled to the Merseyside area.

Robert is white, 5ft 10ins, medium-build with dark hair and green eyes.

He was last seen wearing a blue jumper, blue Adidas tracksuit bottoms and green and black trainers. He was possibly carrying a large black holdall.

Inspector Bilal Mulla, of Preston Police, said: "We are growing increasingly concerned for Robert as it is now almost 36 hours since he was seen.

"I would appeal for anyone who sees anyone matching his description or knows where he might be to get in touch with us.

I would also appeal directly to Robert himself if he sees this appeal to contact us to let us know he is safe.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting log number 0655 of March 10.
