Former Heswall resident Fiona Bruce has been awarded the freedom of the City of London.
The Antiques Roadshow presenter and BBC 1 news reader was given the honour to recognise her involvement with Refuge, the national domestic violence charity, and tomorrow's International Women's Day.
The freedom is thought to date back to 1237 and has been used to celebrate the recipients' contribution to public life.
Fiona, who attended Gayton Primary School, was given the honour at the Guildhall in the City today.
Born in Singapore, the future TV star left at the age of four when her family moved to Wirral.
