THE achievements of Wirral Community NHS staff and volunteers have been recognised in the trust's annual awards ceremony.

Hosted by Radio Merseyside's Billy Butler, the 'For You Thank You' awards took place at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton. 

Wirral heart support service won awards for customer and patient care as well as inspirational manager of the year.

Also honoured was the Livewell team, who had joint winners in the promoting equality and diversity category.

Speech and language therapy service won the award for best new initiative and were runners up in the sustainable future category won by the continence service.

Other winners included Sarah Love from communications and marketing for outstanding achivement and Sean Hancox from physiotherapy and rehabilitation for volunteer of the year which was presented by Wirral West MP Esther McVey.

The final award of the night was clinical team of the year.

This category, sponsored by Hill Dickinson, was won by the tissue viablity service.

The Centralised booking service was thrilled to win Non clinical team after a challenging year where staff had exceeded expectations providing a safe and solid service to Wirral patients.
