A BIRKENHEAD road has been closed after a car was “shunted” by another outside a nursery.
Emergency services were called to Storeton Road at 12.10pm today, Monday, after reports of a crash involving a silver Audi A4 Sport and a silver Vauxhall Astra.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said one car had “shunted” the other outside First Class Nursery, pushing it onto the grass verge and into a fence, causing “gridlocked” traffic in the area.
The front seat passenger of the Astra that went into the fence called the police, while two off duty police officers stayed at the scene to help until paramedics arrived.
The female passenger, believed to be 25-years-old, complained of neck injuries and was cut out of the car by firefighters.
Storeton Road is closed between its junctions with Prenton Lane and Mendip Road while the car is recovered.
