A WIRRAL administration assistant denied stealing more than £6,000 from a New Brighton school.
Maureen Murray, of Buttermere Avenue, Prenton, appeared before Wirral magistrates on Friday where she indicated a not guilty plea to one charge of theft by employee.
The 42-year-old, who worked as an admin assistant for Little Acorn Nursery - based on the site of St Peter and Paul RC Primary School on Atherton Street – is alleged to have stolen £6,209 from her employer between November 8, 2011 and May 4, 2013.
Murray opted to have her trial heard at Liverpool Crown Court, where she will next appear on June 20 for a plea and case management hearing.
She remains on conditional bail and is not allowed to approach or enter the school.
