A SERIES of community funding events have been organised to help Wirral West residents decide on ideas that will make a real difference to their local area.

The community meetings, which start this Saturday, will give people a chance to have their say on a range of projects submitted for funding from Wirral West Constituency Committee.

People will be able to vote on the ideas on the shortlist and meet the voluntary and community groups behind the proposals.

Suggestions on how the area and local services can be improved will also be welcomed.

Councillor Jeff Green, chair of Wirral West Constituency Committee, said: “We have received some excellent ideas and these events, and the voting process, will give people in Wirral West a chance to have their say on which go forward for funding.

“I am keen to increase local people’s involvement in decision making in Wirral West.  These unique events give the community a real say in how these grants are allocated.

“If you can’t make the event, you can also pick up a voting paper at a venue near you, or download a form from our website.”

Details of the events and voting forms can be obtained from Wirral Council’s website here. You can also call 0151 691 8349, or email phillipbaker@wirral.gov.uk.

Voting closes on Monday, March 3.
