A 39-year-old man has died in Hoylake in what police are describing as an "unexplained" death.
Emergency services were called to a flat above Sainsbury’s, on Market Street, just after 2.50pm today following a report of concern for safety of a man.
Patrols and paramedics attended and found a 39-year-old man.
He was given treatment but was pronounced dead a short time later.
The man's next of kin are being informed and a post mortem examination will be carried out in due course.
A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: "An investigation into the full circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.
"At this early stage, the death is being treated as unexplained."
