TWO teenage girls were flashed by a man as they made their way home from school in Rock Ferry.

Police have stepped up patrols in the area after the two 14-year-olds girls were approached by an unknown man as they walked home from Prenton High School.

The girls had been walking along Rock Lane, Rock Ferry, close to the junction with Highfield Road, when they allege the incident happened at around 4.30pm on Friday, February 7.

The man, described as being around 5ft 6ins tall and aged between 50 and 60 with grey hair, walked towards the girls before indecently exposing himself to them.

The girls carried on walking and reported the incident to their school the following Monday.

Police were then informed and officers were sent out to patrol the area surrounding the high school on Monday and Tuesday but no further sightings were made.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said patrols will continue over the next few days: “Police and Community Support Officers will continue to provide a highly visible police presence in the area and officers would urge anyone with any information about this incident to contact 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
