A BIRKENHEAD man has been charged after a theft and assault at a convenience store.
Detectives released CCTV images earlier this month in an appeal after a man entered the Easy Shop on Hoylake Road at around 9.50am on January 18.
The man stole items and made racist remarks towards a member of staff before pushing him out of the way.
Darren Macphee, aged 21, of Prince Edward Street, has since been charged with racially/religious aggravated common assault and theft.
He has been bailed and is due to appear at Wirral Magistrates Court on Friday, March 21.
