UPDATE: MILL Lane has reopened following a two car collision shortly before midday today, Wednesday.
A TWO car collision has caused traffic chaos in Wallasey.
Police were called to the junction of Mill Lane and St Alban’s Road at 11.40am after reports of a two car collision involving a green Vauxhall Tigra and a silver Skoda Fabia.
The Skoda is said to have mounted the pavement before colliding with some railings.
It has since started spewing petrol onto the road.
Although no one was injured in the collision, an 84-year-old man and 82-year-old woman who were travelling in one of the cars have been taken to Arrowe Park Hospital for precuationary checks, after paramedics became concerned due to their age.
Mill Lane is currently closed to allow and police remain on scene while they wait for the vehicles to be recovered and for the petrol to be cleared away by the council.
Traffic is queuing in both directions at the St Alban’s road junction following the accident.
