POLICE are hunting a man who asked a Wirral schoolgirl to touch him inappropriately close to a Bebington school.
The 10-year-old girl was approached by the unknown man on the Cinder Path, off Townfield Lane, close to St Andrew’s CE Primary School, at 8.50am on Thursday, December 12.
She was asked to touch the man in appropriately before he left the scene.
The girl, who was uninjured but has been left shaken following her ordeal, went home and alerted the police.
Patrols attended and searched the area.
CCTV images have since been released by police of a man they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.
DC Gill Read said: “I would like to reassure the community that incidents like this are rare and we are taking it extremely seriously.
“I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who recognises the male picture to contact us.”
An investigation into the full circumstances of the incident is ongoing.
