A THIRTY-year-old Wirral man has appeared in court charged with the possession of more than 2,000 indecent images of children.
Darren Paul Henderson, of Singleton Avenue, Birkenhead, is charged in relation to images that range from category one to category five – with category five being the most extreme.
He faces 11 counts of downloading indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of a child, and one count of possessing 2,125 indecent images or pseudo-photographs of a child.
Wirral magistrates court heard that of those, 1,976 were classed as category one images, 16 were category two, 63 were category three, 69 were category four and one was category five.
Henderson did not enter a plea to the offences – which were committed between September 24, 2011 and November 26, 2011 – and will appear at Liverpool Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on May 23.
