WIRRAL households are invited to air their views on a proposed strategy to deal with the impact of climate change on the borough.

The Wirral Climate Change Group is seeking comments from local people on the draft strategy, which can be viewed on the council's website.

Councillor Brian Kenny, cabinet member for environment and sustainability, said: "We all have a part to play in response to the climate challenge. Many in Wirral are already taking climate-related actions.

"Some are adopting energy-saving measures which cut pollution; others are taking steps to prepare for extreme weather events.

"By creating a new strategy we hope to better co-ordinate these efforts and so boost their impact.

"Many people and organisations have already helped to shape the draft climate change strategy.

"We now encourage people to take a look at the draft and share their thoughts to help improve it."

The climate change group is a local forum supported by the council to help co-ordinate local action.

The draft strategy is available via the consultation pages on the Wirral Council website - www.wirral.gov.uk/my-services/council-and-democracy/have-your-say/consultations/current-consultations/climate-change-strategy

Comments are invited by February 10.

They can be submitted by email to bryanlipscombe@wirral.gov.uk or by post to Wirral Climate Change Group, c/o Building Services and Sustainability, Cheshire Lines Building, Canning Street, Birkenhead, Wirral CH41 1ND
