A WIRRAL model has launched a fundraising campaign to help a young boy being treated for a rare form of cancer.

Charlotte Thomas from Upton is holding various events in order to raise funds for seven-year-old Dean Puplett, who has neuroblastoma cancer.

Around 90 children are diagnosed with neuroblastoma each year in the UK.

Dean, from Mold, was diagnosed with the cancer when he was three-and-a-half years old.

Charlotte is taking part in the North West Crown and Glory pageant semi-final in Ellesmere Port, where all money received from the event will go to the appeal.

She was featured in the Globe last year, asking for sponsors in order to enter “Miss Upcoming Model Girl UK.

Charlotte said: "I have been overwhelmed with the response and generosity that I have received so far, and I would love to see even more people entering to help this brilliant cause.

"Every little bit of money raised will go a long way for Dean, and it has been great seeing people getting involved and having fun.

“We have fantastic prizes to be won including sashes and beautiful tiaras kindly donated by Ivory and Co Tiaras, as well as a photoshoot by Photography By Rowlands.
