ARROWE Park Hospital has been given the seal of approval by a healthcare regulator after it was found to be meeting standards in all areas.

Watchdogs the Care Quality Commission visited the Upton hospital in November to check essential levels of care and safety were being met.

Inspectors spoke to patients, carers and family members during the annual unannounced three-day visit, as well as a number of hospital staff and found the hospital complied with standards.

Dementia services were an important area of inspection for the hospital visit, with the trust credited for able to identify dementia patients in their care.

David Allison, chief executive of Wirral University Teaching Hospital, said: “We are delighted with the CQC’s positive comments about the quality of care offered at Arrowe Park Hospital.

“It’s good to know the healthcare regulator was able to see firsthand what our patients and visitors experience on a daily basis.

“Inspectors found many examples of good practice which is a tribute to our hard working staff across the entire trust.”
