A WIRRAL man appeared in court accused of using a “date-rape” drug on a woman and possessing more than 100 indecent images of children and extreme porn.
Philip Robert Jones, of Watson Street, Birkenhead, appeared before Wirral magistrates today charged with giving the woman Nitrazepam with the intention of engaging in sexual activity.
The 52-year-old is also charged with possessing 143 indecent images of children, ranging from category one to four. Category five is the most serious.
Jones also faced ten allegations of downloading indecent images of children spanning a seven-year period from January 2006 to February 2013, three charges of possessing extreme pornography and one of possessing a prohibited image of a child.
He did not enter a plea for any of the 16 offences and has been bailed conditionally to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on January 24
