TRANMERE Rovers face Walsall in League One action at Prenton Park on Saturday.

The match, kick off 3pm, will be the 71st time the two clubs have met in total and the 70th time in the league.

Ronnie Moore will make at least two changes to the Rovers' squad that started against Wolverhampton Wanderers on New Year's Day.

James Wallace misses the match as part of his three game suspension while Kris Peterson has returned to Liverpool following the end of his loan spell.

Matthew Kennedy joined the Club on a month long youth loan from Everton and could start on the wing while Akpo Sodje is back in full training following an ankle injury.

Rovers go into the game in 20th place in League 1 with 24 points from 24 games.

At home, Moore's side have won two, drawn four and lost five. Walsall come to Birkenhead in seventh place in the division, one point outside the top six.

The Saddlers currently hold a 31 wins to 25 advantage and are unbeaten in the last three games between the two clubs.

On the opening day of the current season the Saddlers won 3-1 against Rovers at the Banks's Stadium while last season's game at Prenton Park ended goalless.

The biggest ever win for Tranmere against Walsall was a 6-0 victory in April 1927.

Dean Smith's Walsall squad have won five, drawn five and lost three on their travels this season.

Smith has extended the loan deal of Milan Lalkovic from Chelsea and also secured goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell on a new contract this week.
