THREE Wirral men have been charged with the kidnap of a man from his home in Cumbria.

Police say Christopher James Harris, aged 26 from New Ferry Road, Malcolm Jones, also 26, from Queens Road, Birkenhead, and Luke Miller, aged 20 from Baytree Road, Rock Ferry, are due to appear in court later this year in connection with the incident, which happened on November 30.

The three are alleged to have taken a 35-year-old man from his home in Lediard Avenue, Cumbria.

A spokesman for Cumbria Police said the victim "has described how he was threatened with violence and taken to the Birkenhead area of Merseyside in a black Renault Clio, against his will.

“He was able to escape and alerted the police to the incident.”

All three men are due to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on March 17.

Cumbria Police are appealing for members of the public who remember anything unusual on November 30 in Lediard Avenue to get in touch with investigating officers.

Anyone with information can speak to Cumbria Police on 101 and ask for DC 1761 Jayne Wright or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
