POLICE have released CCTV images of a woman they would like to speak to in connection with the assault of a 15-year-old boy in Birkenhead.

The boy had boarded a bus on Cook Street, in Liverpool city centre at around 5.30pm on Thursday, December 12.

While on the bus – which was travelling towards Birkenhead – a verbal altercation took place between the boy and a woman.

Both got off the bus on Borough Road a short time later, when the boy alleges the woman grabbed him by the arm and pushed him to the floor.

The boy, who was left uninjured but shaken following the ordeal, was able to get up and run away.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: “Officers investigating the matter would like to speak to the woman pictured as they believe she may have information that could assist them with their enquiries and they would urge her or anyone who recognises her to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Merseyside Police on 0151 777 2265.
